Deputy Head of Campus
Start Date: May 2019
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Region: Far East and South East Asia
Curriculum: Australian (Primary school)
Experience required: 5+ years
Sponsorship: Single or Married with tuition for up to 4 dependent children
Salary: From $6000 AUD per month, depending on experience and qualifications
Contract: 12 months

School Overview: This is a multi-campus school offering Australian standard education in Jakarta and Bali. With over 700 students, their three well-resourced campuses offer Preschool to Year 12 classes with specialist support for students with learning difficulties, limited English language proficiency or physical disabilities. Based on the Australian Curriculum and best teaching practise, the academic program is designed to form a solid foundation from which young people may reach their potential and enter the world as confident and compassionate global citizens. School graduates attend leading universities around the world, including Australia, Southeast Asia, England and North America.

Campus Overview: Conveniently located in South Jakarta, this Primary campus is a gracious mansion with purpose-built educational and sports facilities set amidst lush tropical grounds. Home to students from Preschool to Year 6, this is a vibrant and welcoming community where every student is encouraged to explore his or her interests and capabilities in a secure environment. Every student's academic and personal growth is supported by a team of qualified teachers with international experience as well as a strong pastoral care program. A range of development and support programs are available to meet individual talents and needs.

Duties (Sole Responsibility):



* Take on the responsibilities of the Primary Curriculum Coordinator; chair and initiate whole school Curriculum meetings (Primary, provide advice from the Coordinator meeting to the HOC and Principal
* Prepare and manage the campus teaching and learning timetables
* Supervise IT programs (e.g. iPad 1:1) and applications (e.g.Digital Citizenship)
* Prepare and supervise duty rosters including wet weather arrangements
* Liaise with the Coordinator of Non Academic Programs on the conduct of ECAs
* Assist to Proof read written reports
* Coordinate staff absences and class covers
* Produce a Staff Morning Notes to inform staff of daily happenings
* Prepare documentation and general organisation of the annual school Conference
* Coordinate the Year 6 Graduation function

Duties (Shared Responsibility):



* Support implementation of the annual Campus Improvement Plan
* Ensure that all teachers are aware of Australian Curriculum requirements
* Manage and monitor student welfare and behaviour protocols and practices
* Ensure that the staffing of excursions and camps is according to guidelines
* Assist with Campus Professional Development activities and Programs
* Attend Full Executive meetings as required
* Assist with the recruitment and appointment of local and expatriate staff
* Assist with Staff Performance Management according to school policy and at the request of the HOC.
* Assist in the development of an annual school recurrent budget and work to ensure that inflow and expenditure targets are achieved.

Requirements:



* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience and a record of excellent classroom teaching
* Master's Degree in Education
* Sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum
* Ability to promote a caring, success orientated, positive campus.
* Promote effective communication and open dialogue between teachers, parents and students.
* Ability to relate to both local staff and expatriate staff - support the maintenance of effective teams and develop positive, cooperative working relationships that promote excellence in all teaching and learning programs.
* Provide educational leadership that inspires the confidence of the school community.
