We are working in partnership with a semi-independent living service within the Peterborough area to recruit a deputy manager for their residential home. They cater for children ages 8-16 Due to the current climate they are in need of an increased number of sleep ins, usually you would work on a rota and have 1 long weekend every 3rd week. However the current need will see you working three 24 hour shifts in 1 week period, then 2 in the following week and 2 again. Therefore you will be working for 7 days and off for 14 in a 21 day period. As deputy manager you will be paid between £10.40 and £11 per hour, with sleep ins paid at £35 per night. You will also be required to complete 7 days on call per month. Your working week will be 40 hours a week and sleep ins as per published rotas. The role is a permanent role with immediate openings.
Responsibilities:To assist the Manager in the effective and efficient management of the home ensuring it adheres to current legislationEnsure that all staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in relation to Children's Regulations and the daily running of the homeEnsure that all staff are made aware of the variety of intervention strategies to work with children and young people in your careEnsure that the standards expected in the delivery of care are upheld and maintainedCreate, review and maintain care and behaviour management plansParticipate in health and safety and risk assessments, ensuring all are kept up to dateEnsure all staff members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and maintain effective communications with the Registered ManagerTo contribute to all aspects of the physical and emotional care of the children, to promote their welfare whilstworking in partnership with their family and other professionalsTake total responsibility for the home in the absence of the ManagerTo provide experience and expertise in working with children and families referred to the home and to assist the home manager in the management and development of a staff teamEnsure that children's reviews and meeting are delivered within the required time scalesWork within the code of confidentiality and ensure that records in the home are stored in a manner which is compliant with regulations and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate

Requirements:Management experience within residential childcareEnhanced DBSCompassion and Patience for and with othersLevel 3 NVQ in Social Care is desiredHold a full manual UK driving licence.
