job description

I'm currently seeking a design manager to start an interesting new role with a major civil engineering main contractor in Hampshire in a long term position.


You will be supporting the implementation and manage the control of the design process to ensure that the design and procurement of specialist packages are delivered to suit the construction programme and are in line with cost parameters.

The main design elements are undertaken by design consultancies and the role of the manager will be to liaise with them and ensure the timely development, production and validation of the design.

Your role will involve



* Manage targets for ensuring delivery of design to timescales.
* Ensure design is co-ordinated, buildable, cost effective, delivered to programme and complies with contractual obligations.
* Ensure design solutions are safe to construct, maintain and operate.
* Develop & implement the Design Management Plan.


You will ideally have



* a background in civil engineering based works and previous experience in a similar role.
* Chartered status or Membership of a society would be a big plus (but not essential)
