The Client: A Regional Contractor operating in Kent, Sussex and London who specialise in Residential, Education, Commercial and Commercial projects
Position: Freelance opportunity for experienced Design Manager reporting to the Commercial Director You will be responsible for managing the design process for defect work that has already been carried out by the Contractor as well as completing documentation for compliance at pre construction stage and through out the construction process
Your duties will include:Chair regular design team meetingManaging consultant design teamLiaise / Meet with client, architect and consultantsFeasibility & value engineeringWorking with pre-construction team on tendersEnsuring programme deadlines are metReview of construction design information for buildability, budget and complaint with regulations and client requirementsResolve design issues in a timely mangerManaging specialist sub-contractors
RequirementsPrevious experience as a Design Manager working for a main contractorDesign & Build experience is idealWork well under pressureAbility to work well in a large teamFantastic communication skills
