Are you looking for a role in which you can really make a difference to students with disabilities? We are looking for the right individuals to support our students to achieve their full academic potential.

You will support students with their studies by providing practical, note-taking and study assistant support to the students you work with. Ultimately, you will help the students you work with to develop their independence and help them to achieve their academic goals.


* You can choose the hours you take on to fit around you own studies, another part-time job or family commitments.

* You will work closely with the University of Chester's student futures team to build relationships with staff and students.


The role of a Disability Support Assistant will include performing one or more of the tasks below:

* Providing accurate and well-structured hand-written notes for students within their lectures and tutorials.
* Supporting students with their mobility around campus and facilities such as the university library.
* Assisting students within their lectures by clarifying the language used, checking understanding, and rephrasing information if necessary.
* Encouraging students to implement study skills strategies such as: encouraging regular attendance, planning schedules, prioritising important tasks and adhering to deadlines.
* Maintaining a professional manner as a Disability Support Assistant and being aware of the need to maintain professional boundaries with the student at all times.
* Acting in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the institution
* Working closely with Randstad to support the students, address any concerns in a timely manner and maintain professionalism and confidentiality within your role at all times


* Strong skills in note-taking, typing and proofreading
* Punctuality and reliability
* Good organisational skills
* Ideally you will have experience in working with specific learning difficulties individuals in higher or further education
