Disabled Facilities Grants Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Disabled Facilities Grants Surveyor based in a Local Authority in South London.

Post: Disabled Facilities Grants Surveyor

Rate: Circa £27 - £31 an hour

We are looking for an experienced Disabled Facilities Grants Surveyor to provide a full building surveying service to clients of the council including property survey, designing adaptations, writing specifications, preparing tender documents, full contractual supervision of the work including CDM.

The main duties of the role are as followings;



* Visiting client's homes to carry out a survey and establish/advise on structural condition.
* Prepare drawing of proposed scheme using AutoCAD.
* Carry out final inspections, notify contractors of defects and agree reasonable time period to remedy defects.
* Keeping up to date with changes to Housing Renewal Policy, limitations of grant in respect of extent of works, costs etc to ensure advice to clients and others is in lie within policy guidelines.
* Maintain necessary liaison with the Staying Put Manager to ensure that the teams' objectives are met.

Requirements



* Social housing experience.
* Proficient use of AutoCAD.
* Extensive knowledge of building construction including drainage.
* Required to use own car (essential user allowance given).
* Willingness to work outside of normal hours if required.
* Enhanced DBS check will be required.
