A special school in the Brighton area is looking for a specialised EBD teaching assistant who can work with and support students with challenging behaviour. You will need to be a resilient and a caring character and have a very good understanding of how to deal with students of ages 7-16 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis or small groups in a range of activities through out the day
Be an active part in setting the learning environment
Support the pastoral needs of the learners
Assist students during class making sure they are on track
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
The ability to work as an individual and as part of the team
Have an understanding of students with emotional needs
Be able to work with learners who have various learning difficulties
Be confident in leading groups in different educational subjects
