EHS Associate required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

As the EHS Associate, your primary focus of this position will be to provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to hourly and/or salaried personnel to insure employee health and the environment are protected. Conduct and supervise activities that insure compliance with regulations (HSE, Environment Agency) and corporate policies. Typically manages Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) activities at a small facility or supports and deputises for EHS Manager at a medium to large facility.


Supervises one or more EHS staff and support personnel.


* Reporting to this position are various levels of EHS staff and support personnel
* The incumbent needs to coach and facilitate the development of the work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, suppliers, other cross functional groups and internal customers to insure goals are achieved. Incumbent needs a breadth of knowledge and experience including EHS regulations, programs and policies
* Assists operations management in understanding related EHS requirements and their impact on operations. Evaluates the impact of impending regulations and communicates these issues to appropriate facility personnel. Utilizes and presents potential modifications of the corporations "best management practice" programs to ensure they meet the needs of the facility
* Support other BCP activities in the absence of the EHS Manager. This role will require infrequent UK travel to the Leicester facility

Representative Activities:

* Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations, and works with EHS manager or corporate EHS to establish guidelines for protection from those hazards
* Prepares or reviews EHS training materials for the facility
* Investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment
* Performs self-assessments of safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions
* Generating and/or reviewing of reports for environmental (Environment Agency) and safety (Health and Safety Executive) agencies



* 1 to 3 years of previous experience
* NEBOSH certificate minimum. A strong understanding of EHS regulations and corporate standards is essential
* Strong influencing and communication skills are necessary


* A technical degree and NEBOSH Diploma
* Consideration will be given to equivalent EHS experience
