Role: Electrical Supervisor - Nights

Experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer required to join a leading facilities maintenance provider on a static site in Derby. This role would suit a Lead Engineer looking to take the step up into a Supervisor role.

You will be required to supervise a team of 3 engineers whilst also delivering planned and pro-active works.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

* Supervise a small electrical team driving both planned and proactive works.
* Champion team health and safety including delivering tool box talks and safety briefings.
* To supervise and undertake electrical repairs and maintenance tasks on both single and three phase circuits/equipment including minor electrical installations including basic circuit design, testing and completion of relevant certification.
* To provide support to the Management by reporting on team absence, training requirements and delivering team appraisals

Main duties:

* Ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest standard of customer service and that work is completed on time, within budget and meets Service Level Agreements or Key Performance Indicators
* To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
* Build effective relationships with the client, answering queries, keeping them informed about site activities and developments
* To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures
* To undertake both electrical and building fabric repairs and installations as appropriate
* To report any defects at time of service visit
* To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
* To understand and comply with company policies and procedures
* To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
* To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
* To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Qualifications & Experience:

* Hold relevant professional qualifications to achieve Competent person (CP1) status and a holder BS7671 + Amendments qualification with electrical knowledge and sufficient experience to carry out inspection and testing and some system design.
* C&G 2360 or 2330 1 & 2 - Electrical Installation (equivalent or higher)
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Safety Council standards
* Experience in the correct use and management of testing equipment
* Good electrical diagnostic skills
* Knowledge and capability to lock off and tag distribution boards and isolators.
* Experience of single and three phase plant and equipment
* Can isolate all types of protective devices such as BS88 and BS3036
* Earth loop impedance check.
* Completes minor works forms and/or providing information on Work Record Sheets
* Competent to undertake functional work on basic control panels, Emergency Lighting and/or Fire Alarms to statutory standards and completing record sheets.
* Understands BMS equipment functional operation

Roles and Scope of Capabilities:

* Quality cable installation and cable management
* Testing and inspection of electrical installations
* Completion of Installation certificates with quality information
* Design of basic electrical system installations
* Testing and certification to Fire Alarm systems
* Testing and certification of Emergency Lighting systems
* Functional work on Central Battery systems

Person specification:

* Can demonstrate understanding of health and safety regulations. Understands the relevance of tool box talks, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working.
* Understands the administration and application of a PPM system
* Able to understand and act on both verbal and written instructions/procedures
* Computer literate
* Flexibility over working hours (may be required to work days and weekends to ensure work is co-ordinated / completed)
* Must have the capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Must have good communication skills both verbal and written


Hours: 8pm - 6am Monday - Thursday

Must be able to drive - pool car provided. Free parking on site.

25 days holiday + bank holidays.

Salary Negotiable depending on experience.

If hired, you would be required to complete a competency assessment & LV awareness course.
