The client are a national house builder based in Oxfordshire, owned by one of the largest contractors in the UK.

They are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to work in their Technical team from the office. Candidates must have at least 5 years experience working as a Technical Manager for a house builder, must come from an engineering background and must be based within an hour of Abingdon. Due to the level of experience required the client have stated they would be willing to pay up to £60k + package.

Key Responsibilities

The role will involve the management and coordination of all engineering information relating to the running of a number of live residential developments, from the planning stage through to completion. This will include the following general accountabilities;

Programming resources either externally or internally to meet business plan objectives.

Supporting the Technical Team with the due diligence review and delivery of technical and engineering information required for land appraisals and acquisition.
Strategic input into the engineering solutions on all sites.
Supporting the Planning Manager with the technical and engineering design information required to accompany planning applications.
Coordination of external consultants in the production of technical and engineering details and drawings required for the effective delivery the residential schemes, from planning through to completion.
Procuring full Technical Approvals for all engineering details, including the adoptable roads & sewers.
Negotiating and obtaining S38, 104, & 278 Approvals and Agreements.
Responsibility for management and discharge of engineering Building Control and NHBC conditions.
Responsibility for the clearance of engineering Planning Conditions.
Procurement of all incoming mains service designs, diversions and details.
Preparation of the full technical and engineering release packs for tender purposes.
Preparation of full Production & Sales release packs upon commencement of developments.
To ensure the delivery of information in line with agreed programmes and budgets.
To assist in implementing departmental objectives and procedures
Provide support and accurate technical and engineering information for all internal departments, including Land, Commercial, Production, Sales & Customer Services in line with any company goals and programmes.
Check and review all engineering details and reports for accuracy and completeness
Assist in the coordination of the Development Health & Safety information and delivery by external consultants
Evaluation of changing regulatory standards and product information to ensure effective and cost effective delivery of the residential schemes.
Attend all requisite external and internal meetings, including regular development progress meetings.
Experience & Qualifications

HND/Degree in Building Studies/Construction/Engineering or equivalent
Good level of IT literacy with experience of AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel & Word
Experience of technical and engineering aspects of house building design
A good understanding of Highway & Sewer Standards
Construction Design & Management Regulations
Proven ability of delivering design for projects on time, to budget and quality standards with high customer satisfaction results.
Commercially aware.
Excellent time management with ability to multi task.
Professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Ability to make decisions within authority.
Able to lead and work as a team member.
Strives for continuous improvement for the benefit of the company.
Experienced in analysing problems and delivering solutions
