A mixed gender public secondary school & sixth form for ages 11-18 is seeking a qualified English teacher with strong behaviour management and good subject knowledge in both language and literature. The school is a Church of England school which was rated 'good' in it's most recent Ofsted report.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing lessons in line with the curriculum for English
* Teaching courses in English literature & language
* Instant thinking and problem solving to set additional tasks for strong students or provide additional support to weaker students
* Preparing and explaining challenging homework
* Marking of completed work with effective feedback to supplement the marking
* Strong classroom behaviour management skills and ability to work alone
* Constantly reviewing and ensuring the safety and safeguarding of students

Key requirements for the position include:

* In date DBS check with no reprimands which would prohibit you from working with children
* A degree and a relevant teaching qualification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)
* Experience of teaching English is essential - no appropriate for teachers of English as a foreign language
* Positive forward-thinking attitude to reflect your passion for the subject
