Hours: Part-time, 32 hours per week (4 days per week - flexible on which days)

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping students build their academic and vocational skills while fostering their independence. The students you'll work with may face challenges related to anxiety and mental health needs. In addition to teaching English, you'll be required to teach a second subject.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging lessons that meet the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support student progress.
Plan lessons with personalised learning targets, ensuring each student's needs are met.
Monitor student progress and contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
Maintain structure and motivation in the classroom, ensuring lessons are both engaging and challenging.
Stay informed on the latest developments in autism education and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Assist with curriculum development and manage allocated resources or budgets when necessary.

What We're Looking For:

Essential: PGCE, QTS, or QTLS qualification.
Ability to teach Entry Levels 2 & 3, Functional Skills Levels 1 & 2, and GCSEs in English, as well as a second subject.
Desirable: Experience in specialist education or working within a school environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong planning, preparation, and reviewing skills to support student development.
Proficiency in IT to enhance classroom engagement and learning.
Calm, professional, and well-organised, especially in challenging environments.
