Finance Analyst - Month End Close

Location: Brentford

Contract: 7 months

Pay rate: £272 per day (PAYE)/ £344 PER DAY (Limited)

Job Description:

In order to achieve upper quartile Best in Class processes by 2020 this role is required to build, standardise, optimise and maintain Month End Close processes which are conducted in Regional Finance hubs.

Responsibilties:

People/Organisation



* Work with Regional Finance Hubs and our outsourced provider Genpact to deliver an optimised Month End Close process
* Facilitate discussions to ensure Taxonomy is agreed, defined and documented.
* Arbitrate on any issues related to clarity of taxonomy or where changes are proposed
* Ensure standardisation across the regional hubs

Process & Policy



* Design and document processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness
* Design, document and deploy optimised, standardised finance processes
* Review and update policy to optimise process
* Identify activities that can be eliminated
* Ensure controls are optimised to balance risk and efficiency

System



* Identify processes for automation
* Partner with Genpact for delivery of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
* Ensure processes are standardised and documented to enable RPA
* Participate in DIL Testing for RPA

Performance Management



* Ensure Performance Management Measures are in place and in use across all processes. These will be used in the Ops Board to measure compliance

Other

Accountable for identifying and driving benefits delivery. This activity will be supported by the Project and Benefits Delivery Manager who will prepare the analysis of targeted benefits and drive and track the savings.

Knowledge Required:



* Knowledge of the process will be applied to analyse the current state to determine what the process deliverable are.
* Then design the change at a detailed level to determine where activities will be performed ensuring that the process is design efficiently and at the optimal cost to serve
* Then Partner with Genpact to deploy the change across BSC and Genpact
* Measure the impact of the change in terms of cost reduction
* Then measure the operational effectiveness of the new process e.g. SLA
* Problem solving will include aligning conflicting views. For example, where one party want to keep activity in its current place and the GPO wants to centralise it.
* Analysis must be performed to determine where the optimal place for this activity to be performed is
* The role requires use of techniques such as decision criteria and Pros and Cons to determine the best approach.
* Experience of working in a Finance Transformation programme.

Qualifications:



* Accounting Qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
