job description

This individual will be acting as the key Finance contact for the assigned business area(s), with a particular focus for this role on projects within the IT function and Capex.

This role is pivotal to ensuring business leaders of the organisation have the visibility, commercial insight and support that they need to execute the group strategy

This role provides a great opportunity to influence positive change within the business at a highly strategic level and provides fantastic exposure to the decision makers of the business.

It offers wide scope as part of a large finance team that is fast paced and seeking continuous improvement.


Responsibilities include:
*Produce and consolidate detailed annual budgets/plans and monthly reforecasts related to current and pipelined projects, communicating and challenging assumptions where needed, predominantly for the IT function.
*Work with Heads of Departments to produce/develop variance analysis and MI to understand the key drivers of the result and track overall performance against plan.
*Undertake and present ad-hoc analysis to meet evolving business requirements and to support the IT Leadership Team in evaluation of operational performance and the impact of different operational initiatives.
*Work closely with the Corporate Planning Team to feed assumptions into the overall Group budgets/plans and provide requested analysis and commentary for presentation to the Group Board.
*Provide input to the Financial Reporting Team for associated activities including monthly accruals and provisions, capitalisation of development costs, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly reports.
*Implementation of controls and reporting standards for the division where you will track and allocate budgets.
*Support the month end reporting processes by providing your analysis and divisional reporting.

The ideal Finance Business Partner will possess the following attributes/skills:
*Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with experience of working alongside business functions outside of Finance.
*Will be able to confidently challenge and influence management on their plans and obtain explanations for variances.
*Will have excellent communication skills and a desire to understand different operational areas and business activities.
*Will have advanced systems skills (in particular MS Excel and Powerpoint).
*Will be able to respond and adapt to rapidly changing business needs.
