I am currently looking for someone with a strong finance/management accounts background to join a growing trust based in Cheltenham. Working closely alongside the current Finance Manager and their Finance Business partner, we have a temporary vacancy open to join their successful team and to assist with different areas of their current workload.
What will my day to day look like?Providing full Management Accounting services to a range of different cost centres, assisting budget holders in planning service developments and developing business casesProviding budget holders with accurate financial information to assist them in controlling and monitoring their financial resourcesProduction of accurate and timely monthly budget statements for different budget areas together with appropriate interpretation and analysis of variancesAttendance at meetings with directors and managers of different divisions, presenting findings and providing an analysis and explanation of budget expenditure variances in liaison with budget holdersContribution to the management of the financial performance to a portfolio of budgets, identifying key financial pressures and deciding on appropriate corrective actionProduction of reports and any adhoc costing and investigation as and when requestedMonitoring cost improvement plans and income generation schemes
What kind of person are we looking for?Ideally someone who has worked with the NHS before - if not, someone that is system savvy and can pick systems up quickly as a lot of in house systems are usedSomeone with a can do attitude and analytical approachAt least part qualified but qualified would be idealSomeone with the confidence to have Clinical Business meetings with directorates around your own findings, answering queries confidently and dealing with highly sensitive and complex issues with a multi-layered approach Previous experience in dealing with management accountsNegotiation and influence skills
