job description

The Role:

The Fire Safety Professional is to provide Fire Risk Assessment and associated support services throughout the inner M25 area.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Fire Safety Order 2005, familiar with the use of PAS 79 methodology and be able to provide advice and support in all aspects of compliance. In addition must be able to demonstrate at least three years experience across both Public and Private Sector.



1 Ensuring all fire risks are identified and assessed in premises using fire risk assessment method and prepare reports to management recommending prioritised actions in respect of fire safety improvements.
2 Providing advice in the interpretation and application of the provisions of Fire safety law in UK and other statutory guidance in respect of fire safety in the buildings or building occupied by the staff.
3 Advising management of their responsibilities in respect of The Fire Safety Regulations Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005.
4 Providing advice to residents, managers and all staff in regards to fire safety issues and arrangements, including fire precautions and evacuation procedures.
5 Assisting in implementing, reviewing and updating fire safety policies, strategies and systems.
6 Assisting in the development of innovative training programmes and policies to meet Fire safety Regulations, ACoP and the Policies.
7 Preparing information literature and other instructions for the guidance and education of staff on fire safety.
8 Liaising and developing relationships with Fire and Rescue Services, Health & Safety Executive, Local Authorities, other statutory bodies, as and when required.
9 Keeping up-to-date regarding current fire safety and associated legislation, attending suitable training courses when required and maintaining CPD requirements.
10 Have the flexibility to undertake AD Hoc tasks.

Qualifications / Experinece

NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion

Technician status with a recognised bodies such as IFSM / IFPO / IFE.
