Food Safety Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food Safety Officer based in a Local Authority in South London.

Post: Food Safety Officer

Rate: Up to £32 and hour for the right candidate

We are looking for a Food Safety Officer to carry out food hygiene, food standards and health and safety inspections in food premises ensuring that performance targets are consistently met.

The main duties of the role are as followings;

* To carry out detailed food hygiene inspections and investigations in food premises except for those assessed as being Category A or Category B in accordance with current legislation, statutory Codes of Practice, LACORS circulars and advice and recognised standards of good practice, as authorised.
* To maintain full, accurate and appropriate records of inspections and investigations and other relevant contact with food businesses.
* To prepare letters and reports, including cases for prosecution in respect to complaints and other investigations in low risk premises for submission to the Food Safety Manager.
* To carry out drinking water sampling for examination and analysis transporting samples to the appropriate laboratory or collaboration centre as required.


* Food experience to undertake reactive work.
* Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection with Food Standards Endorsement.
