Nassau, once home to 18th century pirates (including Blackbeard) and confederate smugglers, is now a thriving tourist hot spot in the island nation of the Bahamas. Away from the cruise ship terminal, bustling Bay Street and the immense Atlantis resort, life goes forward at a much more sedate pace. This tropical island is home to white sandy beaches and the sort of blue waters that you see on the covers of glossy travel magazines. The warm, sheltered sea hides thriving coral reefs and is a snorkeler's paradise. Old world and colonial architecture dominate with crumbling forts crying out to be explored if you're not too busy soaking up the sun. For dining, be sure to try out the national dish, conch, which is served in chowder, salad or fritters, and then wash it all down with some quality, local rum.
Requirements: You should be a fully qualified French Teacher with two plus years' experience ideally however, NQT's can be accepted. Previous UK/IB experience is preferred. Salary is extremely competitive for the region starting from $30,000 (sliding scale based on experience), annual flights, settling in and generous housing allowance (first and last month's rent is advanced by the school).
