Gas Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gas Inspector based in a Housing Association in North West London.

Post: Gas Inspector

Rate: Circa £39,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus £1500 car allowance

We are looking for an experienced Gas Inspector to provide assurance that all gas servicing, maintenance and installation works are completed to the highest standard and comply with current regulatory requirements and to monitor and report on contractor performance.

The main duties of the role are as followings;



* To prepare specifications of works for planned domestic & commercial boiler upgrades, water service and M&E projects, obtain quotations, liaise with affected residents and supervise works on site until completion.
* To undertake post and pre quality inspection of Boiler installation, repairs and servicing, on a consistent basis to monitor and evaluate repairs outcomes.
* To monitor contractor performance to ensure that the services they deliver is of the highest quality and meets both regulatory requirements and our customer promises.
* To develop a full understanding of all assigned contracts and ensure day to day delivery is achieved. Work collaboratively with contractors to deliver services and achieve performance targets.
* To provide technical advice on the implication of new Gas and Water Hygiene regulatory requirements and how best to implement them.
* To assist in the preparation of statistical information and reports for consideration by residents, colleagues and Board members.

Requirements



* Previous Social Housing experience.
* HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent or be working toward this qualification or have extensive appropriate experience.
* Relevant Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) 'Gas' Certificates of Competence for domestic, industrial and commercial gas installations.
* Relevant Certificate of Competence relating to the prevention or control of Legionella.
* An in depth understanding of the legal obligation place upon the council in relation to gas and water safety.
* Asbestos Awareness and Working at Heights training.
* This role requires the post holder to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
