My client, a leader in the treatment of organic wastes, has an immediate opening for a Graduate Chemist to join the team on their Avonmouth site. This is a full-time ongoing temporary role.

The Graduate Chemist is responsible for liaising with customers to maximise the profitable import of liquid organic wastes into the treatment centre. This includes;

* Assisting with hands on operation of Reception and Transfer Station
* Assisting with compliance (material coming onto and off site).
* Assisting with compiling lists of wastes to be transferred off site to third party disposal points.
* Assisting with non- conformance procedures on incoming waste streams
* Collaborate with supervisors to ensure site targets/KPI's are achieved
* Assisting with Laboratory KPI's.
* Assisting with sample process within the Site Laboratory
* Assisting with running of all operational and other laboratory activities
* Proactively supporting and embedding a generative safety culture.
* Assisting with the daily/weekly plan for the operational areas and laboratory, adapt to the unplanned and unexpected to deliver targets, KPI's and other requirements.
* Ensuring compliance of all waste coming into site (physical and administrative), utilise appropriate system to manage non- compliance.
* Ensuring technical compliance of all activity including partaking in audits.
* Partaking in improvement of process contributing to micro project development and improving the velocity of the process plant.
* Undertaking area administration activity including Chemist Check sheets, process sheets, stock sheets, production records, etc.

To be considered for this role, you will have a degree in Chemistry with knowledge of handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including an understanding of inter-reaction. You will have the confidence to work as part of a team as well as unsupervised as required. Ideally, you will have good knowledge of waste processing compliance issues and enforcement. You will be well organised computer literate with a good eye for detail and problem solving skills. Previous customer service experience is desirable.
