job description

We are looking for a Handy Person to support our client's static site in High Wycombe.

This role would be suited to someone who has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position would require someone to provide minor maintenance works, whilst ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in line with the instructions specified by the Lead Engineer.

Some duties on this role include the following:



* Ensuring the site equipment and building fabric is efficiently and effectively looked after
* Reporting defects and malfunctions to the Centre Management and Lead Engineer
* Cleaning light fittings and testing lighting systems, replacing where necessary, minor parts such as bulbs, tubes, fuses, starters and diffusers in accordance with safe working practices
* Clearing blockages, removing foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps and cleaning spillages as required
* Ensuring gullies and drains are kept free from debris and that the grounds are litter free
* Cleaning equipment and all windows
* Undertaking walkabouts and reporting Health and Safety issues such as trip hazards and vandalism
* Ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access particularly in adverse weather conditions (e.g. clearing snow, gritting)
* Dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner, ensuring that it is available for collection as required
* Providing reactive response to car park equipment when maintenance is required
* Undertaking porter duties as required including setting up and clearing away furniture
* Monitoring stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, grit, toiletries, light bulbs/tubes, and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures
* Escorting, where necessary, Personnel visiting the site (e.g. contractors)
* Complying with Health and Safety requirements as well as other relevant legislation, carrying out weekly site compliance tests such as EM lighting, Fire Alarm Testing and assisting with evacuation procedures
