Vacancy Overview:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to take responsibility of H&S advising within a growing Construction Company. This will ensure improved people capability and competence to meet Regulatory and Industry Standards.

Working on a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects up to £50M, the successful candidate will report in to the Senior H&S Manager.

Role Responsibilities / Duties:

* Provide advice to various departments when they are producing the Construction SHE Plans, the Site Specific Environmental Plan and the traffic management plan
* Ensure that new sites are correctly set up in accordance with the SHE Plan
* Carry out regular site visits to provide advice and support to the site teams, look at future activities to ensure they have been properly planned, and check that the SHE Plan is up to date and any changes recorded
* Investigate incidents and significant near-misses, and any internal or external notices issued by enforcement authorities
* Attend internal review meetings on site with staff, and meetings with client's representatives, planning supervisors, etc. as required
* Promote company objectives and targets


2 years' experience of advising on H&S within the construction industry.

You must have sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge and experience of the conditions, problems, pressures, practices and legal issues which affect carrying out construction work.

You should hold an appropriate membership of a professional Health and Safety body (IOSH, IIRSM or IRM) and demonstrate CPD activity.

* Driving licence
* The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health
* NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
* CSCS or CPCS Card


* First Aid
* A current Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate
* NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health
* NEBOSH Diploma

* Comply with company policies and procedures
* Prioritise workload effectively and be able to work efficiently and accurately
