Health and Safety Manager - Client Direct - Historic building - Central London - Up to 40K

One of our major clients is currently seeking an experienced and capable health and safety to join their busy estates department.

The role is an integral part of the team and will be responsible for acting as the lead on all health and safety matters and the planning and delivery of cross departmental operations within the estate.

As part of the operations team the role will report directly into the Head of Operations and will work very closet with all other division across the estate.

* Working hours 9.00 -17.15, Monday to Friday

The main duties for the role are as follows:



* Support relevant Events Safety Managers in the planning and delivery, in practical terms, of events on the ground, liaising with external agencies, supervising activities in person as required and ensuring all activity is compliant and safe.
* Lead on designated activities and events, planning and resources across departments.
* Lead and coordinate responses to incidents, near misses, safety concerns and work with staff and others to resolve issues and follow up as necessary.
* Liaise with other departments and third parties regarding the operational safety requirements of activities.
* Write necessary plans and instructions consistent in line with company policy and in accordance with current legislation to ensure compliance.
* Provide support and relevant advice on Fire, Occupational Health and Safety, Incident Management and Contingency Planning issues.
* Devise emergency procedures in conjunction with Fire, Health Safety & Environment.
* Promote a positive safety culture in all areas and act as Co-ordinator for the Fire, Health and Safety committee.
* To ensure regular safety training and testing for all staff.
* To ensure all levels of management adhere to standards, procedures and guidance.
* To promote an ethos of continuous improvement.
* To act as representative Fire, Health Safety & Environment adviser on multi- disciplinary project teams, working parties and other groups, alongside the Fire, Health Safety & Environment Advisers
* To provide appropriate Fire, Health Safety & Environment advice on all functions and events across the estate.
* To conduct ad hoc inspections of high risk areas.
* To conduct checks to ensure the implementation of the HRP FHSE management systems.
* Manage the permit to work system and issue permits as necessary.

Applicants for the role must be able to meet the following criteria:



* IOSH and NEBOSH qualified.
* Proven health and safety track record.
* Experience of working within a large commercial/estate environment.
* Experience of working with listed or historic buildings.
* Incident management and investigation experience.
* Understanding of Fire and environmental procedures.
* Be willing to undertake diploma qualifications.
* Understanding of engineering and construction.
