RAIL HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

Randstad CPE are expanding and looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to assist our Rail division on a part time basis. With 13 offices across the UK we have flexibility in terms of location for the role.

Minimum requirements for role:



* 3 years experience in rail industry
* NEBOSH General Certificate
* Member of appropriate professional institution e.g. IIRSM

Job Description:



* Provide & facilitate HSE advice, training and applicable procedures for CPE employees and rail temps
* Assist the MD, Rail Director and Manager in setting and monitoring safety & environmental objectives and developing & implementing rail policies and procedures
* Ensure Management System procedures are implemented and maintained and include First Aid provisions, Medical examinations, Alcohol and Drugs testing, Competency, provision of PPE, working hours etc.
* Produce, compile, monitor and communicate risk assessments applicable to rail operations
* Ensure all accidents, incidents, close calls, near misses and cases of work related ill health are reported to the Rail Management team, investigated and appropriate corrective action taken to prevent reocurrence
* Be responsible for reporting applicable accidents & incidents to the appropriate regulatory bodies including RIDDOR and ORR
* Analyse accident/incident statistics, results of inspection processes and safety & environmental performance and produce reports for internal meetings, Management and briefing material as required
* Regularly review any updates to HSE legislation, Network Rail, Group and TFL Standards together with applicable best practice, guidance, bulletins and newsletters (expert advice to be sought if required)
* Ensure procedures are in place for the briefing of rail workers at registration/induction and for keeping content up to date with any changes to CPE policies, NR & TFL Standards etc.
* Ensure that all necessary PPE and safety equipment is available and issued free of charge
* Have joint responsibility for procuring products and services that meet current specification and Standards that are supplied for Network Rail and CPE approved suppliers
* Act as the contact point for all interfaces applicable to health, safety, environmental and rail regulatory bodies and for HSE with rail clients and workers and to bring any issues or concerns to the attention of the Rail Management Team
* Represent Randstad CPE at client meetings
