My client is s one of the world's leading specialist mining contractors. They offer a comprehensive portfolio of services including underground and surface mine construction, shaft sinking, raiseboring, mine contracting, raise mining, mine development and engineering. They are currently looking to recruit for a H&S Trainer for there diverse and forward thinking team based in North Yorkshire.

Work Experience



* Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical training capacity, preferably within a mining, heavy construction or engineering environment.
* A relevant qualification in adult training or teaching
* Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and relevant HSE qualifications would be an asset e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH etc.
* Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate oral and written with all levels of the organization
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Mine Rescue, Emergency Response and First Aid / certifications an asset

The Role

The HSE Trainer is responsible for all aspects of technical and functional training development and delivery for colleagues up to senior management level on the Project. This will cover technical training needs analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation. The role will also be responsible for the sourcing of 3rd party training suppliers where appropriate to deliver training to ensure all staff are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements for their role at all times

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1 Develops, conducts, promotes and coordinates regular training as identified in the site training program;
2 Contributes to the revisions of relevant policies, procedures and programmes;
3 Responsible for maintaining a relevant training needs analysis for the project and that the training matrix is updated to reflect any changes or additions;
4 Design and deliver appropriate training programmes for all personnel in operations, safety, and or maintenance functions;
5 Assures that contractors under the direction of DMC have the appropriate training and certification prior to and while onsite;
6 Ensures that all training reporting is accurate, complete and distributed as per the Training Plan;
7 Where necessary participates in the investigation of incidents and injuries;
8 Submits training reports required by DMC Mining Services and regulatory agencies;
9 Assures the Project operates within regulatory requirements and conform to company/site policies including ensuring any training is delivered to the required level in line with HSE guidance;
10 Where assigned by the HSE Director, plans and conducts inspections and safety meetings with crews;
11 Utilises safe work procedures and risk assessments as part of the training program;
12 Identifies, engages, evaluates and audits any 3rd party training provision to ensure that they deliver to the required standards and the most cost-effective method of training is sourced;
13 Oversees the creation and delivery of the site induction process for new employees;
14 Design, monitor and ensure compliance with the training and competence sign off procedures for all personnel on site;
