An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highways Engineer based in a Local Authority within Central London.
5 months duration - possibility for extension
We are recruiting for an experienced highways and traffic engineer with knowledge of consultation and feasibility - traffic planning process only. The key requirement is the ability to design and implement schemes to a high standard and to direct monitoring.
Responsibilities:Give technical advice on development proposals during the planning stagesNegotiate and prepare Section 38 and 278 Highways Act (1980) agreementsAssess requests to stop up part of the public highwayAmend, reject or approve technical drawingsInform developers about the permits or licences needed for highway worksHelp developers through enabling works
A relevant qualification in town planning, engineering, transport planning, or related subject
Knowledge of health and safety and CDM and temporary, experimental and permanent Traffic Management Orders requirementsExperience of CaD design, land surveying, BoQ, site supervision, works measurement, good interpersonal skills, engineering works record keeping
