We are looking for a senior teaching assistant / higher level teaching assistant ( HTLA ) to join one of our schools in the Guildford area. Job responsibilities:
* Lead and support students with their learning
* Keep students engaged and focused
* Communicate with parents/carers/Local authority and work together to support student
* Working with children on a 1:1 basis and in small group sessions
* Always be a good role model and show consistency
* Gain respect from pupils and allow them to speak freely
* Make sure classroom is health and safety enabled
* Challenge pupils and motivate them to reinforce self-esteem
* Ensure all pupils have an equal opportunity to access education
* Assisting the main teacher with the plan and prep of lesson
* Understand the social and emotional needs of each student
* Flex your teaching style to suit individual needs

Ideal candidates will have the following:
* Must have experience within SEN, education, support worker and youth worker roles
* Understanding of SEMH, EBD, ASD, ADHD and other behavioural difficulties
* GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
* Committed to safeguarding
* Keen willingness to learn and progress in your role
* Resilient and thick-skinned
* Interest in working with young people who have challenging behaviour
