job description

I am currently looking for an Homelessness Prevention Officer for a well known housing provider based in Guisborough.

Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is an ongoing basis, to start as soon as possible.

Pay rate is between £12 per hour

Duties will include:



* Providing housing advice to support vulnerable households
* investigating homelessness applications in accordance to legislation
* Liaise with landlords and relevant agencies in order to resolve issues which could result in Homelessness.
* Arrange temporary accommodation for homeless households as necessary including involvement in the emergency out-of-hours service.
* Maintain appropriate statistical, financial and administrative records relating to homelessness prevention.
* Assist the Housing Service Team Leader in the allocation and monitoring of the "Homelessness Prevention Fund" in order to prevent specific cases of homelessness.

Requirements include:



* Substantial experience of working in Local Authority housing department or similar organisation and specific experience in homelessness or working with vulnerable clients.
* Ability to use computer systems related to specific activities
* Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
* Have a UK driving license
* Knowledge of homelessness legislation
* Understanding of basic databases and FLARE information systems
