Company Overview

A large public sector organisation is looking to expand their team with an experienced and driven ICT Database Administrator.

Your Package

- Full Time Hours (37 per week)
- £16.71 per hour
- Monday- Friday

Your Responsibilties

- Installations, support, maintenance, monitoring and development of the application databases.
- Monitoring all database hardware architecture performances, including pro-actively monitoring and identifying issues
- Overcoming issues by implementing the change process as required maintaining and optimising the database hardware environment.
- To be part of a team of ICT professionals who provide and have responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of all desktop related hardware, software and associated service
- To provide advice and guidance to customers on all SQL database related matters, including testing procedures and any training requirements which may result from upgrades or new systems.
- Adhere to appropriate ICT policies, strategies and standards that reflect best practice, including ITIL and PRINCE2.
- In conjunction with other ICT teams, assist with development of work plans for the team which contribute to the ICT Service plans and other related Partnership and Council plans & strategies, and undertake the direction of such work.

Essential skills

- Experienced in SQL Software
- ITIL Foundation
- Being able to work effectively to tight timescales
- Ability to analyse problems and adopt an innovative approach to finding more efficient solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
- ICT related degree or equivalent professional experience
