To be credible and successful in this role, the Team Manager will operate across three main areas:
Develop the strategy for corporate IS infrastructure services focused on networking and servers & storage across the global pladis footprint. This includes any pladis datacentres, pladis operational sites and offices, and pladis cloud based services.
Liaise with senior IS colleagues to ensure that the strategic solutions for IS Infrastructure align to the global pladis vision, and contribute fully to delivery plans for the delivery of the agreed strategic solutions.
Develop existing technologies and recommend new technologies to achieve the pladis goals and IS strategy.
Produce strategic roadmaps for all aspects of current pladis networking and server/storage.
Provide technical recommendations to IS colleagues and IS business analysts.
Define and carry out benchmark exercises to ensure appropriate design and performance of services.
Define the standards for the deployment of all networking and, server & storage related infrastructure.
Define all the processes necessary to ensure IS infrastructure deployments are in line with the professional delivery of IS services.
Define, document and review all aspects of service delivery within the infrastructure environment, including monitoring, capacity, backup & recovery, support and maintenance, security and access to third parties.
Working with the DR Manager, define and develop the ongoing disaster recovery (DR) strategy to continually improve recovery times and ensure team readiness, and, undertake DR testing bi-annually.
Provide staff management activities for the Team, including the annual appraisal process with objective setting.
Ensure the Team attain the required service level agreements and strive to achieve the KPI targets.
Ensure the Team maintain the IS infrastructure in all pladis sites, and, at any location hosting pladis infrastructure worldwide.
Produce training plans as required to ensure development of required skills for the Team.
Own, prepare and update delivery plans working with the Project Management Office.
Maintain a record of IS infrastructure contracts, oversee contract renewals in line with budget and, co-ordinate and maintain positive relationships with any third party supplier or vendor.
Interface will all IS Managers and IS staff and contribute in a positive manner to ensure successful delivery outcomes for the IS function.
Lead by example and undertake any reasonable task as required.
