job description

Are you a Senior IT Project Manager, looking for that next step in your career? Are you ambitious, with proven people management capabilities, still enjoy being hands on, and an advocate of best practice? If so, this is worth a closer look…

The role fits in to an established PMO and will lead a wide range of technology focused change programmes. It's a busy, fast paced environment with high visibility and a requirement to roll those sleeves up and get down into the detail to maximise successful project delivery. The IT function is lean, without all the layers and departments you typically see in a big corporate. Therefore, you'll need to be adaptable, flexible and wear different 'hats' when required.

The Programmes of work are centred predominantly around business systems and applications - working in partnership with external suppliers and partners. It is a Waterfall environment, with high standards in terms of governance and best practice. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be used to working on multiple concurrent programmes, managing c6 Project Managers/Business Analysts and have a sharp, confident and effective communication style - sometimes working directly with C level colleagues.

Key requirements & responsibilities:-

* Significant IT and Business Change Project and/or Programme Management experience
* True advocate of best practice and governance
* Line management skills
* Proven budget management
* Defining and implementing project structure, resources and appropriate partners (external) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
* Planning, managing, monitoring and reporting on the work of the project teams to deliver the outputs to the agreed timescale, quality and cost criteria
* Relevant, professional project management qualifications (Prince2, MSP etc)

Some travel will be required, mainly in the South East but also extending to the Midlands and North from time to time. On offer is a very good base salary, car allowance, bonus, medical and generous pension.

If you are interested in discussing the role or to apply, please send your latest CV for immediate consideration.
