Job title: Junior Programmer
Location: Surrey
Salary: £25k basic salary
REF: J3701:SE

Sector: Satellite communications

Our client is a leading independent service provider of satellite communications and IT support – delivering high-quality voice and data services.  They're looking for a Junior Programmer to work as part of a strong and experienced team with international interfaces to a global R&D organization - following training you’ll support new developments using a variety of development environments.

Some of your core responsibilities as Junior Programmer will include:
  • Supporting enterprise and R&D teams in the testing and development of existing and new applications and systems for use in-house and for customers
  • Developing your understanding of user requirements
  • Supporting the roll-out and lifecycle of the applications and systems
  • Creating and Maintaining design and development documentation
  • Creating and presenting user guides and online help documentation
  • Maintaining the bug/patch register
  • Managing user access and security, reviewing licenses and tracking  usage
  • Develop & enhance as required existing corporate applications
Some of the key skills needed in this role are:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or
    A strong IT software programming qualification or background
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills
  • Desire to learn more and expand knowledge into relevant technologies that will enhance company offering
  • Technical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Able to communicate effectively via verbal and written means with technical and non-technical
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritise and self-motivated
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
