Lead Primary EAL Teacher
Required: August 2019
Location: Chengdu, China
Region: Far East and South East Asia
Curriculum: International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and IB for High school.
Experience required: 2 years
Salary: Teaching salaries from $2100 - $4700 USD per month
Sponsorship: Single or married with children (100% tuition for one child).
Contract: Two Year Renewable

The Primary School Curriculum is based upon the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) currently in 1000 schools in 65 countries. The Middle School Curriculum is based upon the extended version of the IPC known as the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). Senior secondary grades have the IB DP curriculum with high level academics being the focus. The school is an IB World School. Students also study Chinese and German. The 50-acre/20-hectare campus features bright, modern classrooms and labs offer the latest technology enhancements, including SMART Board interactive whiteboards. Location Overview: Although one of China's less explored cities - Chengdu is a key economic hub in South West China with a population of 14 million including 14,000 ex-pats working for a variety of companies, including Intel, Toyota, Microsoft and various international schools. Chengdu has a high standard of living but lower living costs and this has given the city the reputation of easy to move to and hard to leave. It is a popular tourist destination; famous as home to the Pandas, Sichuan food, mountains, temples and Giant Buddha's.


* The school require a Bachelor's degree in Education or specialised subjects, and a Primary or Secondary Teaching Certificate
* 2 years + solid teaching experience.
* Qualifications must be awarded from the UK / Ireland / Australia / New Zealand / USA or Canada.
* For Primary applicants experience of the IPC is highly desirable, or an inquiry based approach.
* In the High school, knowledge or practice of the IB curriculum is highly desirable
* Applicants must be flexible, adaptable and passionate about teaching.
* Previous international experience is also of benefit.
