Student Support Worker (Additional Learning Support)

Are you ready for a fresh start and a new challenge for a new year?

Randstad Student Support is now recruiting for Support Workers to work with learners who have a wide range of needs, including academic, social, emotional and physical. I am looking for suitable staff for January 2019 start at a local college in North Tyneside. You will be supporting students to achieve their full potential both in and out of lessons.

This role would suit someone who is looking for flexibility and term time hours. You will be employed based on the student's needs and your individual availability. The college is closed for holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter and Summer.

You could be supporting in any of the following curriculum areas.



* English
* Maths
* Sport

Personal Attributes



* The ability to communicate and work with young adults / students
* A real desire to support and help students to reach their potential
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Be able to maintain a confident and professional approach at all times
* An Interest or experience in one of the above curriculum areas would be advantageous

Responsibilities



* To provide support to students in group based sessions under the direction of the Tutor
* To develop learners' English and Maths skills
* Ability to keep students on task and engaged
* Promote independent learning with your students
* Work within the policies and procedures of the college and in partnership with other staff and teams
* Attend staff and review meetings where necessary

Requirements of the role



* Successful applicants must be suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults
* A DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) will be carried out free of charge

Desirable



* Experience is desirable but not essential in: supporting people with: learning difficulties, disabilities, education or care
* The right attitude, patience, encouragement and understanding
