A college in Guildford are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in the SEN department, providing support for students with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will be supporting pupils with a varied curriculum in a further education setting, to ensure they work and learn effectively before they leave education.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Helping to build students' confidence and motivation
-Acting as a liaison between tutor and student
-Physically supporting learner, pushing wheelchairs, working with animals and working outside in all weathers
-Supporting learners with managing behaviour and accessing the curriculum
-Ensuring accurate student records are maintained

An ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
-Be able to adapt to a range of working environments and different learning abilities
-Have an understanding of health and safety implications
-Be self-motivated and have the ability to work as part of a team
-Significant experience working with young people or adults with a range of learning difficulties
-GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability and willingness to travel between sites and elsewhere on a regular basis
