Well I'm currently looking to recruit an SEN Support Assistant with experience of working with students with SEN, at a secondary school in Huddersfield. This position is part time and set to start in February 2021. The applicant will be tasked with assisting the class teacher, and working on a 1:1 basis with children and supporting small groups.

Responsibilities:
- Help the teacher with preparation and planning of activities and lessons
- Ensuring the classroom is a safe learning environment for the children
- Provide professional, approachable and helpful assistance to the teacher
- Tailor your approach to meet the needs of the individual child, using different learning styles to ensure each pupil is getting the full benefit from the lesson
- Communicating effectively with children, staff, parents and carers where necessary
- Reporting any issues, in line with school policy and procedure
Requirements:
- Experience working with children who have SEN, ideally in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills
- Possess the motivation to achieve and add value to the school
- Support children with different ability levels, including SEN
- DBS check (or the ability to undertake one)
