A Primary school that we work very closely with is looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant on a full time basis, a position that begins immediately after the Christmas holidays.
The role involves working with children with autism and Global Development Delay and primarily includes Speech & Language and Intervention.

Responsibilities of the role:Supporting children of a lower learning ability than the year group they are inBeing adept within Speech & Language and/or InterventionDeveloping a rapport with children and utilising an empathetic approachTo support children across all areas of learning with a variety of needs while also allowing them independenceLiaising with the relevant class teachers and SENCO when required
Requirements of the candidate:To be pro-active, understanding, empathetic and patientA basic understanding of Speech & Language and/or InterventionTo be punctualUnderstanding of SafeguardingAbility to communicate effectively with childrenBeing able to work full time between September 2019 and, potentially, July 2020Having a DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to complete a new DBS application
