Are you experienced working with learning difficulties and/or disabilities?

We are looking for a part-time Learning Support and Care Assistant to guide and support students with complex and severe learning difficulties, enabling them to access a wide and interactive curriculum. This college in Guildford aims to give their students independence and life & social skills, to ensure they leave as confident and strong individuals.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Physically supporting learners; pushing wheelchairs, working with animals and working outside in all weathers
-Managing behaviour and helping students to access the curriculum
-Ensuring accurate student records are maintained
-Helping to build students' confidence and motivation
-Acting as a liaison between tutors and students

An ideal candidate may possess the following:
-Significant experience working with young people or adults with a range of learning difficulties
-GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English
-An ability to adapt to a range of working environments and cater for different learning abilities
-Self-motivation and an ability to work as part of a team
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-An ability and willingness to travel between sites on a regular basis
-An understanding of health and safety implications
