Are you an experienced Learning Technologist looking for the next opportunity in Manchester, working within a supportive environment? If so, we may have the perfect role for you.

Randstad Education is supporting Manchester College in recruiting a Learning Technologist on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for producing high quality learning materials that optimise the customer experience using appropriate learning technologies. Maintaining and developing MOL's learning platform. Resolving customer queries relating to the Virtual Learning Environment.

Key Accountabilities:

* Manage and develop VLE courses and course content for new and existing MOL programmes.
* Liaise proactively and responsively with relevant staff to develop and implement course content for the VLE.
* Ensure that the presentation of course content in the VLE is of a consistent high quality and customer centric to provide an excellent user experience while paying attention to detail.
* Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in order to promote learning solutions that are current, efficient and enhance the learning experience.
* Provide support to learners and others using the VLE and other learning technologies where necessary.
* Work with the IT solutions team to overcome server-side issues, manage learner enrolment, and enhance the VLE with plug-ins and updates.
* Train staff and tutors in the use of learning technologies.
* Prioritise own workload and work proactively and flexibly to ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Degree level qualification or relevant experience or professional qualification.
* Numeracy and literacy skills.

Previous Experience

* Experience of using learning technologies for teaching, learning, and designing/developing support materials.
* Experience of web and learning technologies, including the Moodle VLE, web2 tools, and SCORM packages.
* Experience creating and setting up Moodle courses and how to use the various plug-ins and activities within Moodle.
* Experience of audio and video creation and editing (eg Premiere Pro).
* Competent in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Graphic image creation, manipulation and editing (Photoshop, Illustrator)
HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Job Specific Skills:

* Ability to work under own initiative, showing a flair for problem solving.
* Excellent time management skills with an ability to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills (written/oral), and confidence in addressing groups of staff and students, senior managers and members of external networks.
* Be highly motivated, creative and passionate about technology.

* To undertake other duties that Management may, from time to time, reasonably require, commensurate with the grade.
