Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a global player in the medical devices industry. We currently have exciting opportunities for Operations Technicians to join Randstad Inhouse Services on a temporary 6 month contract at its site in Inverness.

* Shifts - There two different shifts currently being recruited for. On your CV, please mention which shift(s) you would be willing to work on

* 12 hour shifts, 4 on, 4 off rotation of days and nights - 7 am - 7 pm

* Shift calendar will be provided at the start of assignment in order for you to know your schedule for the whole year
* This does include weekends
* The site generally closes down over the holiday season in December

Ideally we are looking for candidates with:

* High attention to detail
* Manual dexterity
* Computer skills (beginner level)
* The ability to follow health and safety processes inclusive of manual handling, PPE, general hygiene
* Good written and spoken English and basic numeracy skills
* Strong technical skills

Knowledge & Skills:

* Electrical, mechanical & pneumatic system knowledge
* Knowledge of PLC, microprocessor or computer controlled production equipment
* Comprehend electrical and pneumatic schematics
* Practical hands on individual
* Experience with low and extra low voltage supplies
* Previous experience in performing planned and unplanned maintenance
* Demonstration of sound methodology in fault finding techniques
* Candidates will ideally have an Apprenticeship served ONC/HNC in Engineering or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.

There are no specific educational requirements for this role. Candidates with a mechanical/manufacturing background would be preferred.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance activities on the manufacturing equipment. This includes emergency, corrective and preventative maintenance.

Engineers are expected to professionally and systemically develop and improve the maintenance plan for the equipment to drive a reduction in emergency maintenance and improve efficiency. Stong techincal skills are required in both electrical and mechanical disciplines and an ability to logically fault find and route cause problems. The position also demands the ability to work as a team and collaborate closely with operations.

At the start of your shift you will take over a workstation from the previous shift and briefed on challenges and targets set out for your shift.
