A Maintenance Technician is required on a contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Senior Technicians will cover test bed and other facility breakdowns using fault diagnostics techniques; calibrate test bed equipment such as dynamometers and high speed, low speed pressure transducers and control systems. They also cover repair of equipment and the installation and commissioning of new facilities. It is expected that the candidate is subject matter expert in one or more of the following discipline; PLC, electrical, BMS (ownership), Quality documentation (17025 compliant).



Qualifications



* Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and or Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.


* Multi-skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
* Experience or qualifications for working to health and safety standards/regulations


* BS 7671:2008 IEE 17th Electrical Regulations
* BS 7671:2008 Inspection and Testing of Electrical installations (Desirable)
* Qualifications/Experience of Programmable Logic Control (Allen Bradley, RS logix5000, Siemens)
* Qualifications/Experience in fault finding of hydraulic systems
* Qualifications/Experience in Fabrication and Welding. (Desirable)
* Qualifications/Experience in Calibration of instrumentation
* Qualifications/Experience in Laser alignment of rotating equipment
* Qualifications/Experience in CAD, CREO or equivalent
* Ability to read and interpret, design, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings.
* Forklift Truck licence (Desirable)
* MEWP lift licence (Desirable)
* Grinding Wheel Regulations
* Key Skills Level 3 (Or relevant experience)
* Hot Watch authority
* First aid at work

Abilities - looking for Subject matter expert in 2 or more of these fields

Mechanical Maintenance - responding to all aspects of mechanical repairs and breakdowns, working independently

Electrical Maintenance - carry out requests to maintain the electrical facility, under IEE 17th edition Electrical requirements

Pneumatics and Hydraulics - Ability to respond to requests to install, fault diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including understanding and the use of schematic and detailed circuit drawings.

Machining - Skills include typical milling, turning, grinding, drilling and tapping of parts or components required by Engineers or situations as they arise.

Pipe Fitting - Ability to provide the installation of all service systems (With the exception of live steam). Includes; Compressed air, Process water, Chilled water, Low pressure hot water and diesel fuel

Inspection measurement and Calibration - understand, select and utilise proficiently precision tools. Competent in the use of specialist equipment for the inspection and testing of pressure circuits. Use and interpret results from electrical measuring equipment, as needed for Fault finding, Inspection & Test and Portable appliance testing. Use of Rotalign laser alignment equipment to align drivelines and coupled assemblies in various situations as appropriate. Interpret data from thermal imaging camera to identify and solve problems. Use of the mechanical health checker to monitor vibration levels in machine drives to interpret faults.

Logistics - Ability to understand and select the appropriate process for the ordering of parts and equipment for use in the repair and servicing of the facility. Instigate direct contact with equipment suppliers, manufactures and contractors through telephone, email or visits to their premises. Use and maintain TMR's / FMR's and Visa cards compliant with the companies processes and procedures.

PC literacy - sound knowledge in the use of computers. The requirement to understand Auto CAD/CREO, Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint, our work order management system (VIM) for the reporting & execution of breakdown, preventative maintenance and storage of components within the facility. Also required is the use of the building management system (407) to maintain the queen street facility. There is also a need to be conversant with the Internet facility when trying to locate parts for the repair and building of components.
