The Role

The Finance function of the business has recently implemented a new operating model which is aligned with and can effectively support the new company operating model. An opportunity has become available for a an Accountant within the Accounting and Transactional Centre of Excellence based at our site in Port Talbot.

Reporting to the relevant Finance Manager, the main purpose of the role is to deliver a World Class accounting and reporting service to UK and European business areas ensuring best financial practices are adhered to.

To carry out this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

* Act as a role model for colleagues and the area of TSE supported and provide strong leadership on health and safety.
* Responsible of accurate reporting of the commercial financial result for the business unit. Consistent with current accounting standards.
* Ensuring accurate through profit analysis and continuous improvement of the information provided via effective use of SAP, to enable through chain decision making
* First point of contact for external audit for the commercial balance sheet items under your control
* Provide supplementary analysis and insight to the commercial business partner to understand commercial analysis and support decision making on product selection
* To develop standardise reporting packs in new SAP environment to service the commercial organisation in an efficient and effective manner.
* To join together the manufacturing and commercial result via SAP to inform revised through chain product profitability, to understand bottle units and inform commercial of bottleneck units and value optimisation
* To utilise new tools to provide information to non-finance personnel in an easy and naturally intuitive manner.
* To work collaboratively within the ATCE to share and standardise best practise across the business's we serve
* Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with best practice standardisation, identifying and providing support to align where appropriate.

* Develop and sustain a robust continuing professional development process to enhance one's competency through the use of the personal development process and five year plan creation.

The Candidate

* Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
* Qualified with a recognised accounting professional body, or qualified by experience
* Possess demonstrable accounting experience and will be knowledgeable of financial processes concepts and principles in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* IT literate; have strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, with SAP experience being desirable
* A good communicator, able to work off own initiative to achieve set objectives and continuous improvements.
* Strong interpersonal skills to manage ones time appropriately with a ranging customer base
