Materials Manager required on a permanent basis to join an world leading manufacturing business.

As the materials manager you will develop and lead a team of Planner/Schedulers & Operational Buyers that aligns materials and production requirements to meet customer demand. You will own the collection and reporting of site material management performance metrics including work order leading indicators, value/accuracy of inventory, SIOP forecast accuracy, ERP health measures and supplier on time delivery.

You will be part of a dedicated, motivated and successful team that develops and maintains a balanced master production schedule created within capacity and materials availability and gains operational consensus for execution. You will monitors master schedule stability, demand loads and works with operational leads to address key capacity constraints. You will also drive improvements to accelerate the deployment of the plant policy & SCM initiative including removal of barriers and to drive desired customer service and financial results.

Key responsibilities:

* Drives robust SIOP process supported by key stakeholders to deliver accurate forecast accuracy, capacity optimization and inventory requirements
* Creates and maintains a valid master schedule
* Co-ordinates ERP Health across the site including adherence to Model plant disciplines in all facets of Materials Management to ensure site achieves 100% compliance
* Establishes and maintains planning parameters in order to optimize inventory holding costs & work order metrics
* Facilitates the creation of feasible inventory reduction plans that are backed by process improvements & the appropriate metrics to demonstrate accuracy
* Leads the prescribed use and improvement of the site ERP system
* Assess, organize and facilitates continuous improvement activities and training to improve all aspects of Materials management including materials and production planning and operational purchasing to ensure optimization of resource and tools
* Identify and improve the material replenishment processes across the supply base including use of Supplier Visualization portal to ensure KPI's are aligned with site expectations
* Performs inventory and ABC item stratification analysis to achieve inventory targets while meeting availability goals
* Utilise available tools to improve forecasting process and ensure material availability for the Aftermarket sector
* Identify supplier rationalization and supplier development needs to meet operational purchasing expectations and to achieve performance KPI's including Customer on time delivery

Experience required:

* Degree in Materials management/Supply Chain management desired
* Experience in Materials/Production Planning or Master Scheduling - manufacturing industry
* Extensive knowledge of ERP systems
* Demonstrated success in leading a team towards metrics based objectives
* Demonstrated cross functional team leadership skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* APICS/CPIM or CIPS certification
