A mixed gender public secondary school for ages 11-16 is seeking an English teacher for the summer term and possibly beyond. They are currently going through some exciting changes, having appointed a new head with a proven track record to help move the school towards an 'outstanding' rating. The location is within a mile of the most local train station, which is on the London to Brighton mainline. It is easily accessible by car, being close to the A27 and A23.

In the role you can benefit from:

* A salary reflective of the main or upper pay scale
* Inspiring and influencing our next generation
* A term-time working pattern
* A fixed-term contract with the possibility of an optional permanent contract
* On-site parking
* Access to Randstad's benefits and discounts app
* Fantastic learning and development opportunities

Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing and delivering lessons to children of a varying age and ability range
* Assigning challenging but achievable homework
* Providing constructive feedback on completed work in a punctual manner
* Following the school's behavioural policy and guidelines to manage the classroom
* Ensuring the children's safety and safeguarding
* Attending meetings and scheduled schools trips and functions

Key requirements for the position include:

* An in-date DBS which does not outline any reason for which you should not be suitable for working with children
* A degree and relevant teaching qualification
* A minimum of 2 satisfactory references with one being your most recent employer
* QTS is desirable - NQT applications are warmly welcomed
* Experience of teaching maths (essential)
* A positive attitude towards teaching and developing young learners

If this opportunity to join a great team appeals to you we will look forward to receiving your application. On receipt of your application and CV you will be contacted by one of our dedicated consultants and invited for interview, where we will further outline the details of the role and support you with the documentation required to be successful in your application.
