Medical Science Liaison

Location: Maidenhead

Contract: 6 months

Pay rate: £73 per hour (LTD)

An exciting contract opportunity to work as a MSL in a leading Biotechnology company. We are looking for an experienced and driven MSL to hit the ground running and maintain existing partnerships, whilst building new relationship to help to bring about opportunities to the company.

Description:

The MSL provides field-based medical / scientific expertise ensuring understanding of the disease area and products as appropriate. They are integral to building valued constructive partnerships with key stakeholders in the medical community and the healthcare system. MSLs contribute to company success through both internal and external medical education and medical / scientific information exchange and support. MSLs utilise their medical / scientific expertise to gather medical insights and to support research/ data generation initiatives.
* Experience from Health Care and patient management direct or indirect
* Has demonstrated MSL core behaviours and acquired knowledge and skills/competencies to the degree expected at this job level
* Strong presentation skills
Ideally will have experience in the field of Immune Related Inflammatory Diseases (IMIDs) and in particular in the field of gastroenterology (rheumatology and dermatology would also be valuable)

Of key importance is that the MSL ensures the company has a high reputation among our customers in terms of scientific knowledge and skills.


1. Present and discuss medical science related to our products to HCPs
* Build a peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions to establish and maintain a therapeutic leadership position. Rapidly disseminates recent scientific knowledge/data on the products in approved indications;
* Communicates recent scientific knowledge/data on products in off-label indications upon request;
* Drives key medial education activities that support Healthcare Professional development
* Ensures that customer insights are transmitted to in-country teams and also, where appropriate, into the above-country medical brand team;
* Creates communication platforms with KOLs/institutions in line with therapeutic area defined strategies
* Provide quality scientific presentations at internal and external meetings;
* Ensure appropriate KOL/institutional involvement in sponsored activities;
* Communicates KOL feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies


2. Develop and leverage research (IIT, SRA) and medical quality project opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders


3. Therapy area strategy support
* Be internal scientific/medical expert advisor to other staff members, conduct medical/scientific education and liaise with global/EU+ medical team
* Support to marketing and market access functions in product strategies
* Support the implementation of medical strategies through active participation at meetings, local congresses, implementation of medical education initiatives, and panel discussions
* Facilitate and contribute to the organization of local advisory boards and play a lead role in those that address medical topics as a primary objective;
* Provide local support for Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Medical Information and Clinical Research as appropriate
* Provide support for field force and other medical training as required
4. Establish and maintain effective collaborations with Regional & Global Medical Teams
* Act as an active member of Regional (UK/EU+) networks
