Are you an experienced Microbiology Technician? Are you looking to take on a new challenge with a leading Medical Devices Manufacturer? If so we are looking for individuals just like you!

We are looking for a Microbiology Technician to carry out microbiological testing to ensure the ongoing quality of our clients product. You will interface with other departments to ensure timely release of products and materials, support with laboratory investigations and non-conformance investigations. You will also ensure the principles of cGMP are applied and that all documentation is followed to comply with ISO9000, ISO13485, FDA QSRs and the Medical device directive.

This opportunity is a 12 month contract role, working 37 hours per week Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:



* Ensure that microbiological testing is performed in a timely manner
* Bioburden testing
* Sterility testing
* Antibiotic potency testing
* Environmental monitoring
* Enumeration and identification of contaminants
* Management of consumables and materials used in testing
* Autoclaving of items for the laboratory and production
* Execution of the laboratory cleaning program
* Review of sterilization documentation
* Support validation of test methods and equipment for the microbiology department
* Support validation of processes for sterility assurance

Skills and competencies required:



* Minimum of A level in Science or mathematics discipline (international equivalents acceptable)
* Desired BSc degree in Biological sciences
* Minimum 1 years experience in a laboratory setting (Practical laboratory experience gained through a degree is acceptable)
* Working with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office)
* Desired previous experience working within a quality environment in the Food, Consumer, Pharmaceutical or Medical device industry
* Demonstrable basic mathematical ability
* Understanding of basic Microbiological concepts
* Basic knowledge of cGMP and documentation practices
* Excellent written and oral skills
* Result driven
* Excellent social skills
* Team player
* Able and willing to work in a complex organization with highly detailed rules and regulations
