Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Salary: £34,000

My client:

My client is a UK leader providing Facilities Management Services across the UK they are currently expanding their teams due to increasing contracts and are seeking the following.

Job Purpose:

To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra

works or emergencies in accordance with the contract requirements on Multi-Skilled Services.

Aims & Objectives:

* To focus on the expected team behaviours for achieving significant results and outcomes for

the business, helping the client to maintain its leading edge status within the industry and our

reputation with our customers.

* Adherence to Health & Safety at all times.
* To provide a high quality support service to Facilities Management contracts.
* To achieve PPM and Reactive targets and deadlines.
* Actively integrate and encourage ownership within the mobile team
* Continually review workload, focus on project management from enquiry to completion, with Individual development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work as a key part of the Mobile Support Team supplying gas competency to external


* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to boilers and associated plant,
* including Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in accordance with the

contract requirements on Mechanical Services.

* Undertake project works and minor turnkey projects to Boiler plant and associated


* Provide detailed reporting with predictive times for remedial and chargeable works, and life

cycle condition reporting.

* Provide a high level of Gas technical and hands on support in the provision of our service

delivery and the daily communication with our clients.

* Carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are

maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Heating

* Plant and associated mechanical systems.
* Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act
* (HASAWA) requirements.
* Ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain

accurate records/documentation associated with the mechanical aspects of the PPM and


* Participate in out of hours on call rota.
* Respond in a prompt and effective manner to all reactive maintenance issues, and help

desk requests associated with the boiler, heating and ventilation systems, pumps, water

tanks, valves, pipe work and associated mechanical systems or items.

* Co-ordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with mechanical aspects of the

PPM schedules.

* Respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the

mechanical services aspects of the contract as required.

* Attend meetings as required, and provide technical interface with the SMH on site.
* Provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.

Qualifications Required:


* NVQ Level 2-3 (Mechanical Discipline e.g. Heating and Ventilating 6018) or recognised
* equivalent; or City and Guilds (Mechanical Discipline) or recognised equivalent;
* ACS/Corgi/Gas Safe qualification in Domestic & Commercial Gas
* FGas 2079 qualification
* A working knowledge and experience of oil fired appliances
* Experience of combustion and the utilisation of gas analysers for improved efficiency.
* Experienced in the Gas Appliances, Oil appliances and mechanical aspects of general building PPM schedules; and reactive works
* NIC accredited for Gas installations
* Competent working knowledge of Air Handling Unit's, Building Management Systems, Air Conditioning equipment, Cold Water systems, Heating and Ventilation systems, Water
* Full UK driving licence.


* BS 7671 17th Edition
* PASMA / IPAF certified
* Specialist knowledge/training e.g. Water Treatment Systems, Plants, or Systems
* Health and Safety Training
* OFTEC accredited or trained competency in Oil Fired Appliances
* Experience in CAFM systems


Working Pattern:
Week 1 - 0700 to 1600

Week 2 - 0800 to 1700
