An award winning and recently refurbished care home based in Gateshead are looking for a talented and dedicated staff nurse to take on the role of a deputy manager. The home is in a beautiful location surrounded by landscaped gardens, creating a relaxed environment for its residents. It provides 24/7 nursing care and personal support to the elderly, people with long term illnesses and people with disabilities.

As a nurse deputy manager working at this care home you will be responsible for looking after the physical, psychological and social needs of the well respected resident's living their, helping deliver the quality of care they deserve. You will be required to work closely with the general manager taking on leadership duties ensuring your team is providing high quality care. This means leading by example and motivating your team. You will also carry out audits, deliver strategies and check regulatory compliance. We'll also look for you to have some HR experience and a strong knowledge of marketing and sales.

You will also deliver personalised care to the residents by care planning through assessments and working closely with family and friends to ensure the best possible standards of care are met. You will also be responsible for administering medication and alerting senior management, GPs, hospitals if there is a change to one of the resident's health or you are concerned about anything.

This is a permanent role and the nurse deputy manager can expect to work full time completing 38.50 hours per week, which can be worked on a flexible basis, with a variation of shift patterns. With a generous pay rate of £15.50 per hour.

As a nurse deputy manager you will be responsible for:
- Motivating and leading your team to provide high quality care
- Helping with mentoring and supervision
- Managing safeguarding
- Administering medication to residents within the required time scales
- Changing dressings/ assisting care assistants
- Completing daily observations/notes
- Creating and updating care plans
- Using the unit's system to record data and manage appointments for residents

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:
- An understanding of the role required from a nurse deputy manager in a care home setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Natural leadership ability
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take the lead when needed.

The minimum requirements for this role are:
- NMC registered
- Registered General Nurse (RGN)
- Experience in management
