Are you a passionate, confident and strong willed Staff Nurse with the desire to work flexibly in a setting you can enjoy and thrive in? A Nursing Home in North Tyneside currently require a Staff Nurse to work day shifts during the week and weekends. The Nursing home gives residence to elderly patients with long term illness & dementia.

As a Staff Nurse working in a Residential Nursing environment you will often be the Staff Nurse in charge and responsible for administering medication, caring for residents and attending to their needs. You will also be responsible for alerting senior management, GP's, Hospitals if there is a change to one of the residents health or you are concerned about anything.

The home is well equipped with a Cinema room and activities area and residents can get their hair done by an in house hairdresser. Finally all residents have their own beautifully laid out private bedrooms with state of the art bathrooms and equipment.

Shift patterns available at this home:

-8pm-8am (1 hour break)

-3 or 4 per week- can be negotiated at interview stage

Pay rate:

£16.50 per hour

The home offers free parking and great access to local public transport and local amenities.

The role requires qualified and experienced Registered Nurses (RGN) with an active NMC pin, experience in a similar setting is preferable but not essential. Peg feeds and catheterisation is something you will be expected to do in your role so this training would be beneficial.

As a Staff Nurse you will be responsible for:

-Administering medication to residents within the required time scales

-Changing dressings/ assisting care assistants

-Completing daily observations/notes

-Updating care plans

-Using the unit's system to record data and manage appointments for residents

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:

-An understanding of the role required from a Nurse in a home environment.

-Excellent verbal and written communication

-Ability to work well as part of a team and take the lead when needed.

The minimum requirements for this role are:

- NMC registered

- Nursing qualification (General)
