Responsibilities

Full or part time hours will be considered.


- Carry out CAMHS initial assessment(s) and specialist occupational
therapy assessments as required by the service: standardised and none
standardised as appropriate.
- Plan and implement specialist occupational therapy interventions/ care
packages in partnership with the child, young person and their parent/carer
and in consultation with colleagues.
- Carry out assessment and interventions in the most appropriate setting
e.g. CAMHS centre, home, schools
- Monitor and evaluate the outcome of interventions/ care packages in
partnership with the service user and parent/carer and in consultation with
colleagues.
- Use highly developed communication skills to establish good working
relationships with colleagues, service users and carers, working within
CAMHS and with multi-agency providers including local authority and
education.
- Deal effectively with complex, sensitive or contentious communications
- Take account of the particular communication needs of individuals and
groups in order to overcome communication barriers.
- Provide advice regarding occupational therapy related issues to individuals
and groups.
- Maintain written clinical records adhering to quality and information
governance standards set.
- Take responsibility for, or participate in, planning continuing care.
- Be prepared to respond to unforeseen situations that take precedence
over planned work.
- Support the CAMHS team and service development around transformation
of CAMHS services.
- To be involved in the supervision and support to colleagues, including being a clinical supervisor for Band 5 Development OT.
- To provide good quality practice placement education for students on placement in CAMHS.
- To work with occupational therapy professional lead on development of CAMHS occupational therapy practice.

Do you know any other OTs who may be interested in this role? A £300 referral bonus is available - subject to Ts and Cs.

Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Member of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly, under direction and independently where necessary
